Georgies knocked out

Caroline Springs George Cross’ dream run in the knockout Nike F.C Cup came to an end on Wednesday night.

The only state league team left in the last eight, the Georgies faced National Premier League Women’s powerhouse South Melbourne for a spot in the semi finals.

South Melbourne’s experience and talent showed through with three goals in the first five minutes.

The score would be 9-0 at half time and 15-0 at the final whistle, despite the brave efforts for the Georgies.

South Melbourne joined Bulleen Lions and Heidelberg United as winners this week.

Calder United, which has won the previous four titles, won through to the semi finals the week before with a 5-0 win.
