Williamstown and Melton are undefeated after the first three rounds of the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association under-15 J G Craig Shield competition.
The competition which attracts some of the best under-15 talent from across Melbourne, is one of the highlights of the summer cricket program.
On Wednesday, Williamstown easily accounted for Altona.
The A’s were bowled out for just 86, with Donovan Centofanti taking three wickets for the Seagulls.
The Seagulls batted out their 45 overs, finishing with 9-172. Aayan Nadeem made his second 50 of the carnival, making 70.
Melton continued its good form with a win against Hoppers Crossing.
The Lions made 7-176 from their overs with Ethan Dalla Rosa making 60.
The Cats fell short, bowled out for 130. Jake Micallef chipped in with four wickets.
Spotswood opened its account against Taylors Lakes.
Fielding a side in the competition for the first this year, Spotswood made 8-150 against Taylors Lakes on Wednesday.
Harvey Redpath top scored with 62 not out.
The match would go down to the wire, with Spotswood winning by five runs.
Taylors Lakes finished 9-145.
Xavier Holt continued his good form, making 63.
In the other match, Yarraville beat Werribee.
The Eagles made 8-180 off their overs with Joshua Thorpe top scoring with 68.
Werribee was bowled out for 106.
Competition continues today.
