Police safety forum

Police in Melton and Caroline Springs are hosting public forums to gather insights and information about safety issues affecting the community. It’s an opportunity to share your concerns directly with local police to help create a safer community. The first forum will be held on December 4 at 6pm at the Taylors Hill Youth and Community Centre, 121 Calder Park Drive.

Fire prevention

Melton council is calling on owners of vacant land and rural property to ensure their properties are maintained throughout the duration of the fire danger period. The council’s fire prevention officer will inspect local properties during summer and issue Fire Prevention Notice’s when necessary.

Technology grant

The Melton council and Lendlease communities have been awarded a $100,000 technology grant. The Smart Transport and Precinct Planning project is one of 52 successful projects under the federal government’s inaugural Smart Cities and Suburbs Program. The project will use mobile phone location data to understand the use of Atherstone community facilities and help identify future recreational and transport needs.
