Chance to hear AFL stars at Deer Park Club

Football royalty is on its way to Deer Park. But this time, it isn’t another big name being signed by the local football club.

Some of the AFL’s heaviest hitters from the past decade will be appearing at a special one-off show at the Deer Park Club in June to talk about their careers.

I fought the law and the law won will include legends of the game such as Wayne Carey, Wayne Schwass and Campbell Brown.

Event organiser Alf Catania said the show was a great opportunity for sports fans to hear some of the most interesting stories in the AFL.

“It is a show where the boys let their hair down,” he said. “They talk about different times through their careers, times when they have been reported, times when they have been in strife and just basically open up on what they probably wouldn’t say on radio, on TV or in the paper.”

After debuting the show at his home club of Hillside last year, Mr Catania said it had proved a hit throughout the state.

The Deer Park event will be on June 4. Anyone wishing to find out more can contact the club on 9363 1030.

Mr Catania said he is now considering a new show featuring “the Collingwood boys”.
