Keilor and St Albans need to win in the final round of the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division if they have any chance of playing finals. Both teams sit six points outside the top four after Saturday’s results. Keilor had its worst performance of the back half of the season against Haig Fawkner. The Blues were bowled out for just 85. Haig Fawkner finished 6-86 in reply. St Albans beat Westmeadows in a thriller, with the Warriors falling four runs short of victory. In other matches, Sunshine United lost to Aberfeldie.

VSDCA

Taylors Lakes suffered its ninth straight loss in the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association south-west, losing to Altona on Saturday. Altona made 7-246 from its overs, with George Sakkas taking 5-39 for the Lions. The Lions were bowled out for 171 as the middle order failed. Kaidin Jackson top scored with 45. The loss sees the Lions slip to 15th. Taylors Lakes will finish its season against Elsternwick.

Bowls

Deer Park and Melbourne couldn’t be separated in Bowls Victoria premier division weekend pennant on Saturday. The two teams both won two rinks, while finishing on 74 shots, to share the points. James Pearce and Mark Casey were the winning skips for Deer Park. Deer Park bounced back on Sunday with a 75 (14)-72 (4) win against Altona. Pearce and Casey were the winning skips again.

NAB League

The Western Jets made it four wins in a row, beating Geelong Falcons on Saturday in the NAB League Girls competition. After an even first quarter, the Jets opened the game up in the second quarter with four goals. The Jets continued to pepper the goals in the second half and were able to extend the margin, despite inaccurate goal kicking. The Jets won 7.13 (55)-2.5 (17). Caitlin Sargent kicked three goals. The Jets sit third after six rounds.
