A Willy Wonka-inspired playground will entertain children at Watergardens Shopping Centre throughout the school holidays.

Actors from The Candy Academy will be dressed as Umpa Lumpas in a bid to entice children to the lolly-themed play space.

There will be a ball pit for kids to roll around in, photo opportunities with the Umpa Lumpas, and decorating sessions for Wonka glasses (until April 9) … then, it’s Easter egg decorating (between April 10 and 16, excluding Good Friday).

Watergardens’ centre manager Joe Galea said everyone at the Taylors Lakes shopping centre is excited to be hosting The Candy Academy and its playground.

“While the main aim of the academy is to inspire and entertain children, there’s plenty for adults to enjoy as well,” he said.

“From the giant chocolate bars and life-size lollies to pipes full of sweets, it really is a feast for the eyes.”
