Authorities remain concerned about the spread of COVID-19 through Melbourne’s north-west.
Majority of the cases announced on the weekend were either in the northern or western suburbs, sparking a vaccine blitz in those areas.
On Monday, there were 473 new local cases announced with 202 linked to known outbreaks.
It comes after 392 cases were announced on Sunday.
Of those cases, 13 were in Brimbank while seven were in Melton
Currently there are 113 active cases in Brimbank, the fifth most in the state.
Of the active cases, 47 are in the 3037 postcode which includes Calder Park, Delahey, Hillside, Sydenham and Taylors Hill.
There are 39 in the 3023 postcode which covers suburbs in both Brimbank and Melton, while there’s 32 in the 2021 and 27 in the 3020 postcode.
Overall, there have been more than 2200 cases in Brimbank throughout the pandemic.
Several exposure sites in Brimbank and north-west were announced by the Department of Health on the weekend.
Chemist Warehouse at Watergardens Shopping Centre is a tier one site on September 4 between 7.50am and 1.30pm, September 6 between 4.50pm and 9.30pm and September 7 between 4.45pm and 9.30pm.
VicRoads in Sunshine is a tier one site on September 3 between 8.30am and 12.30pm, having earlier been named a tier one site on September 2 between 8am and 5pm.
Caltex Hillside is a tier one site on September 5 between 5.35pm and 11.30pm, September 8 between 9.15 and 11.59pm and September 9 between 12am and 7.30am.
There are currently exposure sites in Brooklyn, Cairnlea, Caroline Springs, Deanside, Hillside, Keilor Park, St Albans. Sunshine, Sunshine North, Sunshine West, Sydenham, Taylors Lakes and Tullamarine.
It comes as the state is set to hit 70 per cent of the eligible population having had their first vaccine dose later this week.
Restrictions set to ease when that mark is hit including extending the distance you can travel to 10 kilometres, while daily exercise will increase from two hours to three hours.
