The United Australia party has guaranteed an upgrade and duplication of both the Calder and Western Highways if elected in the upcoming federal election.

The party also said it would ensure the Melton hospital build which would relieve pressure from Sunshine Hospital.

United Australia candidate for Gorton, Michael Virag recognised a number of issues including the air traffic in Keilor.

“Traffic congestion on local roads and the Calder and Western highways has been an issue for a decade,” Mr Virag said.

“Waiting times in the hospitals are longer than ever and in Keilor the air traffic volume and additional runways in future plans are worrying residents”.

The party had also said its financial policies would include three per cent home loans for five years, the 15% iron export license and the trillion-dollar super investment back into Australian super.

Mr Virag said the policies would support the funding of major projects.

“The financial policies of the party will free up capital to invest and upgrade road infrastructure such as the Calder and Western highways, and fund the projects which would otherwise not be completed such as the Melton Hospital with an injection of 40 billion in the health system.”
