Two teens arrested after home invasion

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two youths following an alleged home invasion in Sunshine earlier this week.

Police allege a property on Stonemark Street was broken into by two offenders about 5am on Wednesday.

Once inside the pair allegedly assaulted the residents and forced the victims to drive their blue Volkswagen Golf several times to an automatic teller machine on Hampshire Road to withdraw cash.

The victims were released just before 7am and the car was found dumped at Dickson and Withers streets in Sunshine.

Police arrested a 16-year-old St Albans boy and a 17-year-old Sunbury boy in St Albans on Wednesday.

The pair have been charged with home invasion, aggravated carjacking, kidnapping, false imprisonment, armed robbery and other assault related charges and were remanded to appear at a Children’s Court today.
