Three teenagers have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle after they were arrested in Braybrook last night.

The alarm was raised when the trio caught the attention of a service station attendant on Old Geelong Road about 12.45am.

The teenagers had purchased some fuel for the car before they tried to drive away but the car wouldn’t start.

The males started to push the car from the station into a nearby service lane.

Police ran a check of the car registration which revealed the car was stolen during an alleged aggravated burglary in Braybrook last Friday.

The three teenagers were arrested after a short foot chase.

A quantity of suspected drugs and cash was found on two of the teens.

A 16-year-old from Truganina, an 18-year-old from Taylors Hill and a 15-year-old from St Albans have all been charged in relation to the theft of a motor car and drugs and weapons offences.

Inquiries are ongoing in relation to a fourth male who is believed to have been in the car at the time.
