Signalised intersections along Taylors Road are among the key projects set to receive funding from Melton council as part of its budget.
The council released its draft budget last week, which proposed to spend 60 million on roads.
Overall, the council is looking to spend more than $137 million on capital works projects across the municipality in t2021-22, if the budget passes.
Upgrades to Taylors Road are among the key road projects proposed by the council.
The council has allocated $4.8 million for a signalised intersection at Taylors Road and Westwood Drive, plus an additional $40,000 for pedestrian crossings.
More than $3.1 million has been allocated for signalisation of the Taylors and Plumpton roads intersection, and $3.38 million for the Taylors and Sinclair roads intersection both in Deanside.
Other road projects include $2 million for the road duplication of Hume Driver in Taylors Hill, signals at the intersection of Caroline Springs Boulevard and Rockbank Middle Road and for bridge construction at Sinclairs Road in Deanside.
The budget also includes more than $1.5 million for upgrades at Burnside Heights Recreation Reserve and $1.6 million for upgrades to the Taylors Hill Youth and Community Centre extension.
After a freeze on rates last year, Melton residents are facing an average rate increase of 1.5 per cent.
