A group of Keilor Heights Primary School students have helped the residents at Doutta Galla Aged Services celebrate Easter.

The Grade 3-4 Italian students created special Easter cards in Italian for the Doutta Galla residents.

Italian teacher Rachel Taylor said the initiative followed on from the students sending Christmas cards in Italian last Christmas.

“This was part of a school initiative to reach out to residents in aged care who might be experiencing a lack of visitors due to Covid restrictions,” she said.

“Doutta Galla dropped off a big box of chocolates and a card thanking the students for making the cards, just prior to the Christmas school holidays.

“They were reading them out to each other, sharing them with each other and attaching them to noticeboards in bedrooms along with other treasured pictures and photos.”

Ms Taylor said the Doutta Galla residents appreciated the Easter messages from the students.

“Doutta Galla dropped off a very large quantity of chocolate Easter eggs this Easter for the students, which they consumed with great enthusiasm,” she said.
