Work begins on Caroline Springs railway station

Work has begun to build the new Caroline Springs railway station.

Kororoit MP Marlene Kairouz took a shovel in hand to turn the first sod at the new station, which is expected to be used by about 1500 people daily after it opens next year.

Ms Kairouz was joined by Public Transport Victoria’s Manuelito Mitra and Nicolle Nazaretian, V/Line’s Ashok Ragan, and BMD construction rep Jeff Gallus.

The new station, off Christies Road, will have 350 car spaces.

It takes its place on the Ballarat line between Deer Park and Rockbank stations.
