St Albans man charged with murder

The body of a missing Albanvale man last seen six months ago has been found near Bendigo.

David Whimpey was last seen on October 24 about 2pm near the Keilor Hotel.

At the time the 30-year-old’s disappearance was described as out of character.

On Monday police discovered his body at a property near Lake Eppaloch, 55 kilometres east of Bendigo, 186 days after he was last seen.

A St Albans man was interviewed yesterday and has today been charged with one count of murder.

The 31-year-old will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court next Wednesday.
