Brimbank residents will have the opportunity to buy a bargain and practice recycling while meeting other locals at a garage sale market to be held at CommUnity Plus in Deer Park later this month.

CommUnity Plus manager Emma Price said her community-based organisation was running the Garage Sale Trail market for the first time and hoped it would help with cost of living pressures as well as encourage recycling.

“This is a good way to snag a good bargain,” she said.

“We want to give people the opportunity to meet their neighbours and participate in the circular economy.”

The event will have 28 stalls selling pre-loved goods, handmade items, plants and seedlings. Also on offer is a Lion’s Club sausage sizzle, a coffee van, ice-cream and free childrens’s activities.

The Garage Sale Trail market will be held at CommUnity Plus, at 822-824 Ballarat Road, Deer Park, on Saturday, November 19.

The Garage Sale Trail is Australia’s biggest annual event for lovers of pre-loved buying and selling.
