Brimbank will celebrate its seniors throughout the month of October.

The Brimbank Seniors Festival, which is part of the Victorian Seniors Festival, will include excursions, dancing, workshops, a dress-up catwalk and more.

Mayor Margaret Giudice invited older residents to join in the festivities.

“This festival is all about celebrating our wonderful seniors and supporting people to get out and about and socialise.

“This year we have planned a range of events throughout October – from fitness to computers, and dancing – so there’s something for everyone,” Cr Giudice said.

As part of the festival, from Sunday, October 7 to Sunday, October 14, seniors will receive free public transport and free entry to selected fitness classes at Brimbank leisure centres.

The Cairnlea Catwalk promises to be a major highlight of this year’s event.

Everyone will dress up as someone famous, glamorous or vibrant and walk the catwalk, before enjoying a morning tea and dancing.

The catwalk will be held at the Cairnlea Community Hub on Friday, October 5, from 10.30am to noon.

RSVP by Wednesday, October 3 on 9249 4800 or cairnleacommunityhub@brimbank.vic.gov.au

All events throughout the festival are free of charge.
