A Deer Park school will harness the power of the wind and sun to give its students better basics about renewable energy.

Purpose-built science equipment and curriculum materials valued at $5000 – donated from Orica as part of its community engagement program – will provide professional development for Victoria University Secondary College teachers to instruct a new renewable energy module for students in years eight to 10.

The college is the 500th school to take part in the program, an initiative of the Australian Academy of Technological Science and Engineering.
