Howzat for top-class fundraising?

Altona Cricket Club has raised more than $20,000 for Western Health’s BreastWest foundation over the past three years at a popular annual Ladies Day.

BreastWest offers financial support for women in need and funding for important equipment to improve patient care.

Club president Neil Burns said he has helped the club give back to the community since taking on the top job three years ago.

“We’ve had friends of the club, female members and mother of players, who have had breast cancer, so we wanted to do something different,” he said.

This year’s event raised $6570 to support women in the west facing a breast cancer diagnosis.
