Residents urged to speak up

Residents have three more days to have their say on two proposed council policies.

The proposed Lifelong Learning Strategy (2018-23) and the Draft Physical Activity Strategy 2018 will both finish their period of community consultation on August 17.

Mayor Margaret Giudice said the physical activity strategy was a chance to help people become more active.

“People living in the west are facing some of the toughest health challenges across the state,” Cr Giudice said.

“Now more than ever, we’re looking at ways to identify initiatives that motivate whole communities to be more active.”

The lifelong learning strategy will help support education at all stages of life, Cr Giudice said.

“Learning is a driver for positive social and economic benefits, and the strategy underlines the value of providing access to high quality education, training and learning opportunities to support better outcomes for everyone in Brimbank,” Cr Giudice said.

“We’re keen to advocate for improved access to, and provision of, education, employment and lifelong learning opportunities.”

Residents can have their say at www.brimbank.vic.gov.au/haveyoursay and customer service centres, libraries and neighbourhood houses or call 9249 4000.
