Pupils’ murals for Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital

Kristen, Jacqueline, Natalie, Michaela and Micaela can’t wait to see their masterpieces hanging at the new Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital at Sunshine.

The Creekside College pupils have been painting murals that will be hung on the new hospital’s hoardings. Principal Rosa Marchionda says about a dozen pupils from years 3,4,5,6 and 9 spent several lunchtimes exploring their creative flair.

“They had to interpret healthy and happy communities,” Ms Marchionda said. “We’ve got lots of talented kids and it’s important for them to be able to showcase their work on a bigger stage.”

The first sod for the $200 million hospital was turned at the weekend.
