Protective Services Officers will start operating at Keilor Plains train station from 6pm next Tuesday.
Officers will operate at the station from 6pm to the last train every night.
Acting Transit Safety Division Superintendent Campbell Mill said PSOs would work on the train platforms, in the car parks and surrounding areas.
“PSOs make a significant contribution to Victoria Police and to the Victorian community,” he said.
“They work hard to ensure we have a public transport system that commuters can feel safe using.
“They have identified and arrested hundreds of offenders that are of interest to police.”
The officers will be inducted at Keilor Plains train station on Monday morning.
