Level crossing construction crackdown

Two level crossings within Brimbank are set to be removed ahead of schedule as part of the Victorian Government’s level crossing removal project during a six week winter construction blitz.

This means commuters will need to allow for more time when traveling through Ardeer and Deer Park until September and should expect delays in both locations.

The Fitzgerald Road level crossing in Ardeer is set to be completely removed by Wednesday July, 20 however commuters can expect closures in sections of Fitzgerald Road, Tilburn Road and Forrest Street in Ardeer from 9pm to 5am between Friday, July 15 to Tuesday July, 19.

The Robinsons Road, Deer Park level crossing will be removed as of Monday, September 12, with closures required to complete the work on schedule.

Quinn Street, Deer Park will remain closed at the intersection of Robinsons Road until Monday, July 18 and Robinsons Road will be closed from Friday, September 2 to Monday, September 12.

Both projects have been pushed ahead of schedule and were not expected to reach completion prior to 2023.

Acting Premier and Minister for Transport Infrastructure Jacinta Allan said, “we’re creating safer connections whether traveling by foot, car or train and we thank the local communities for their patience as we get on with delivering these vital works.”
