‘Legend’ status for Djerriwarrh Community and Education

A Melton community service has been recognised for its legendary commitment to engaging and educating local residents.

Djerriwarrh Community and Education Services were awarded the “legend” label at this year’s Learn Local awards for their contribution to education and training.

Chief executive Trish Heffernan and board and staff members attended the awards ceremony held at Collingwood Town Hall earlier this month.

“Being selected as a Learn Local Legend is a fantastic acknowledgement of Djerriwarrh’s dedication and commitment to providing engaging and relevant learning opportunities,” Ms Heffernan said.

Training and Skills Minister Steve Herbert said the awards highlighted “great stories of training success.”

“Learn Locals are often the first step on someone’s pathway to employment.”
