Hotel claims award

A Taylors Lakes hotel has been recognised as one of Choice Hotels Asia-Pac top 25 hotels in the group’s most recent awards.

Quality Hotel Taylors Lakes was one of 25 hotels to be recognised with a 2020 Gold Award,

which recognises great customer service and exceptional guest experiences.

Quality Hotel Taylors Lakes general manager Eric Visscher said it was good to see the hotel continue to score well from its customers.

The hotel had previously won the international Quality Hotel of the Year in 2015, and was one of the winners of the 2019 Asian-Pac Gold Award.

“It is great, especially the year we have had,” Mr Visscher said.

“We’ve consistently had good scores and it’s the customers giving us scores on whether they would come back, which is really good.”

Mr Visscher said they had gone through a quiet period because of last year’s COVID-19 lockdown, but things had started to pick up with restrictions easing.

He said they had taken the opportunity to look at new concepts t and attract a different market.

“A lot of people are anxious to be out and about,” he said.

“We are offering all new experiences and [guests] don’t have to leave a room if they don’t want to. Movies, food and everything in your room.”

Choice Hotels Asia-Pac chief executive Trent Fraser said Quality Hotel Taylors Lakes deserved recognition despite the pressures of the pandemic on the tourism sector.

“Congratulations to the team at Quality Hotel Taylors Lakes on this win, which I’m sure is a welcome way to start a great year as we seek to put the challenges of 2020 behind us,” he said.

“It is wonderful to recognise our top operators this year through our awards. These franchisees have applied great resilience and innovation to deliver outstanding service and create memorable experiences for their guests.

“We hope the 2020 Gold Awards list inspires more Australians to get out, holiday, and explore.”
