Flu vaccines available in Brimbank

Deer Park and region residents are encouraged to take advantage of a flu vaccination clinic at IPC Health.

The clinic will be open for people over six months of age on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.15am to 4.30pm at the IPC Health Deer Park campus.

For people aged over five years with National Immunisation Program eligibility, IPC Health is offering free walk-in flu vaccinations at the Caroline Springs hub.

Eligible children aged six months to five years can also access a flu vaccination at the Joan Kirner Centre at Sunshine Hospital.

The groups of people which are at more risk of complications from influenza and are eligible for a free annual influenza vaccination under the National Immunisation Program include:

* Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people;

* Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy;

* People aged 65 years or over; and

* People who have medical conditions that mean they have a higher risk of getting serious disease, including cardiac disease, chronic respiratory conditions, chronic neurological conditions, immunocompromising conditions, diabetes and other metabolic disorders, renal disease, haematological disorders and children up to 10 years old on long term aspirin therapy.
