Car crash in Sunshine

The driver of a vehicle who crashed into a Sunshine fruit and vegetable shop on Friday night, June 6, remains unknown after he fled the scene.

The crash caused damage to the glass window and roller shutter of the business, Gasko’s House of Fresh, but left the structure of the brick building intact.

Ghasem Estabraghi, owner of the store, had to close down the deli section of the store, saying “it might take a few weeks to open”.

Firefighters arrived on scene at 8pm, within five minutes of the incident being reported by a triple-0 caller.

A Fire Rescue Victoria representative said “crews worked to make the scene safe and arranged for the vehicle to be towed”

“Thankfully, there were no injuries as a result of the incident,” the representative said.

Firefighters handed the scene to Victoria Police at 8.35pm.
