Calder Freeway speed limit under review

VicRoads will review the speed limit along the Calder Freeway from Keilor to Taylors Lakes with a decision likely within several weeks.

Its review could return the limit to 100km/h on the outbound section of the freeway, which is currently zoned at 80 km/h.

The section of road stretches from Melton Highway to “approximately 430 metres south east of Calder Park Drive”, according to Keilor MP Natalie Hutchins.

The review is expected to be finished by the end of the month.

Calder Action Group president Ian Sutherland said an increase in the speed limit was great news but more needed to be done.

He said the group’s long-term goal was to see an overpass built at the Calder Park Drive interchange.
