A fire which started in a couch forced the evacuation of a Braybrook apartment block last night.
Fire Rescue Victoria crews were called to the fire on Ballarat Road after a neighbour called triple-0 to report heavy smoke coming from the building about 9.50pm.
Fire Rescue Victoria crews arrived on scene in six minutes and rescued one person from the apartment, who was transferred into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.
The rest of the building was evacuated.
The fire was contained to a couch within the apartment where the fire started.
