A P-plater driving his father’s show car was caught travelling more than 90 kilometres an hour over the speed limit in Sydenham last night.
The 22-year-old was clocked at 153km/h in a 60 km/h zone just before 11pm on Kings Road.
The car, which was impounded, was set to be entered into a car show this weekend, police say.
The driver is expected to be charged with various speed-related offences and for failing to display P-plates.
The incident happened just over an hour after a 33-year-old Cairnlea man was busted driving 80 kilometres an hour above the limit along Ballarat Road in Ardeer.
The BMW, which belonged to the man’s passenger, was clocked at 160 km/h in an 80 km/h zone just before 9.30pm.
