A Romanian adventure

Mad Forest, the latest Sunshine Community Theatre Company production, opens August 26 for six nights. Starts 8pm with shows also on August 27, 28, September 1, 2 and 3. $20 a ticket.

Art opens eyes

A new art exhibition at the Hunt Club will focus on raising awareness about mental illness and disability. 27 per cent, by John Puli and friends, will also raise funds to address access issues. Until August 13.

FReeZA gives a push-start

Young musicians will show Brimbank’s got talent at the 2016 Brimbank FReeZA Push Start competition on July 23 at Sunshine’s Visy Cares Hub.

 

Make it a market

Taylors Lakes Lions Club’s first free community market will be on November 20, and stallholders are wanted from the local area. $25, no charge for non-profit groups.

Call for line-up of leading lights

Sunshine Lantern Festival returns on September 10, and Sunshine Business Association is looking for local stallholders for the event. Food trucks and stalls, kids’ activities and performers are needed for the Hampshire Road event, a 10-hour extravaganza from 10am, with entertainment, street performers, music and food from many nations, plus the traditional lantern parade to celebrate the full moon, ending with spectacular fireworks.

Help homeless with hygiene

Help homeless people, donate personal hygiene items at Watergardens shopping centre on July 24 from 9am. Collection Day will accept goods such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, soap, shampoo, hair brushes, lip balm, tissues, wipes, hair ties and sanitary pads.
