Proposed new dog park in Taylors Lakes

Residents are invited to meet with Brimbank council to discuss the proposal for the dog park in Taylors Lakes Linear Easement.

The dog park in Sandpiper Drive will include a space for dogs and their owners, open space and improved facilities, a fully enclosed space and separate area for small dogs, drinking fountain, bins, dog waste bag dispensers, signage and seating.

Council has developed a draft concept plan for the proposed dog park which shows the proposed location of access gates and features.

One section of the park will be enclosed to allow for a shared user path to be built in the future so there is a separation between path users and dogs.

Council said currently the large size and linear shape of the fenced area between Kings Road and Sandpiper Drive does not follow dog park design guidelines, meaning there needs to be adequate ability for owners to control and re-call their dogs.

One section will be enclosed, while the remaining dog off-leash area will be retained, but with fencing removed.

Council will conduct an onsite Listening Post at the Taylors Lakes Dog Park, 17A Sandpiper Drive, Taylors Lakes on Saturday April 20, between 10am–noon.

Free coffee and light refreshments will be available
