UPDATE:
Ballarat Road has reopened after an accident this morning resulted in part of the road being closed.
A motorcyclist is fighting for life after a collision with a car in Deer Park this morning.
Police believe the rider was travelling east along Ballarat Road about 6.45am when the collision occurred.
The rider sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by paramedics.
The female driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Ballarat Road was closed in both directions between Westwood Drive and Station Road for a number of hours after the accident.
