Three teenage girls have been charged with recklessly and intentionally causing serious injury over the stabbing of a man in Sunshine North earlier this month.
The 26-year-old victim, who 7 News has identified as newly arrived Ghanaian migrant Augustine, was stabbed while driving down Heron Avenue on the night of May 4.
He was taken to Sunshine Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by ambulance and later underwent surgery at Royal Melbourne hospital.
A woman from Seaford, 18, a 16-year-old from Richmond, and a 17-year-old from Frankston have been charged with intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, recklessly causing injury in circumstances of gross violence, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, assault with weapon, assault in company and theft.
Police arrested the 18-year-old yesterday. She’s been remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on May 19.
The 16-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested on May 10 and have been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
