Two Melton men have been charged with a string of offences in relation to an aggravated burglary in Hillside that left a 55-year-old woman in hospital.

Police have charged a 26-year-old and an 18-year-old with home invasion, aggravated burglary, armed robbery and intentionally causing serious injury.

They have been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The charges follow a daytime home invasion about 11am on Tuesday.

The woman’s mobile phone and car, a champagne-coloured VW Passat, were stolen during the incident.

Police said the car was recovered partially burnt out in a paddock in Melton yesterday morning.
