These ladies know how to throw a successful morning tea.
The Italian Sports Club’s ladies committee raised $12,500 recently when it hosted its annual Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea event, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council.
The sold-out event attracted nearly 300 attendees, who bidded in the silent auction and took part in raffles while enjoying a bite to eat and a cuppa.
One of the event organisers, Connie Fugazzotto, said she was thrilled with the outcome.
“It was terrific, a good effort by all,” she said. “We really appreciate all the local traders that sponsor most of the gifts [for the silent auction], without them we really wouldn’t be able to run this sort of function.
“They all give generously.”
