Three schools in the Williamstown electorate will share almost $500,000 in state government funding for urgent repairs.
Kingsville Primary School in Yarraville will receive $103,000 to repair the school roof and asphalt areas, re-lay concrete paving at the entrance and renew the asphalt playground.
Williamstown High School will get $196,000 for maintenance works on the administration building at its Pasco Street campus.
Altona North Primary School will receive $198,000 to replace and upgrade cracked and damaged cladding on the school’s two main buildings.
Williamstown MP Wade Noonan said the funding meant schools didn’t have to dip into their own budgets.
“School budgets should be focused on educating students, not repairing leaky roofs,” he said.
“These school buildings are well used, so from time to time they need some TLC.”
