Point Cook paddleboarder Dallas Harvey has won the heart of his community after rescuing a dog stranded on an island in a Featherbrook lake.
Mr Harvey responded to a Facebook plea posted in a Point Cook resident’s group last week, asking for someone to save the dog, who appeared too scared to swim ashore.
After news of Mr Harvey’s rescue efforts was published on Facebook, the father-of-two was hailed as a hero by many of his fellow residents.
