Two men crushed

A 65 year-old Maribyrnong man and a 58 year-old Melton West man were last week taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries as a result of a collision in the emergency lane of the Princes Highway. A silver Mercedes Benz SUV entered the emergency lane between Williamstown and Millers roads and slammed into a Mustang, pushing it into a ute parked in front, pinning the two men.

Charges follow brawl

Five female teenagers have been charged following an alleged affray on Barkly Street in West Footscray last week. A 43-year-old woman and 59-year-old man were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The teenagers were bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

Shooting charges

A Melton West man, 19, has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life after a man was shot in Seabrook, on October 15.

Support for euthanasia

Maribyrnong councillors have voted to support the bill to legalise voluntary assisted dying for terminally ill people in Victoria that last week passed the lower house of the Victorian Parliament.
