Brimbank men charged over carjacking

Two Brimbank men have been charged over an alleged highway carjacking in Laverton North yesterday morning.

A car and a truck were involved in a minor collision on the Western Ring Road before two men flagged down a passing driver who pulled over, police say.

His car was allegedly stolen and eventually found in Sunshine West.

A 25-year-old St Albans man was charged with two counts of robbery, three counts of burglary and several other offences.

He will face the Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning.

A 20-year-old Derrimut man was charged with a single count of theft of motor vehicle and was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
