A UN of learning

Marian College has maintained many of the traditions introduced by the Brigidine Sisters when they established the school in 1957.

The co-principal model remains with Raymond Pisani and Rita Grima, who have been at the helm of the year 7-12 school since 2007.

As a multi-cultural community with 53 nationalities represented, the school offers a number of curriculum and extra-curricular programs that cater for a wide range of learning needs.

With a strong background in wellbeing, Mr Pisani says the school offers an incredible extra-curricular program.

“Students are able to take part in a range of extra-curricular clubs and activities that cater for the talents and abilities of a variety of learners. Examples include sports clubs, a bike club, gardening club, environmental action club and social justice groups.

“We believe that learning and development should occur within a framework that values and engenders the principles of inclusiveness, justice, love and forgiveness,” she says.

Ms Grima has been at Marian College for 21 years and held various leadership positions. She has a strong background in teaching and curriculum development.

“Marian College offers educational programs that are relevant, innovative and challenging. Curriculum is constantly renewed so that courses of study can continue to reflect the needs of our students,” she says.

The school offers a wide range of options for students in senior years including VCE, VET and VCAL programs.
