IT was a soccer dream come true for Taylors Lakes youngster Edward (pictured front) last week when he took to the pitch alongside Melbourne Heart hero Michael Marrone.
An avid Heart fan, the nine-year-old Mary MacKillop pupil was one of four Victorian children chosen to be a mascot for the team’s home game against Wellington Phoenix at AAMI Park last Sunday.
“I was so excited before the day I couldn’t sleep. It was so cool running onto the field with them and I got to meet Michael Marrone,” he said.
Mum Joy Caglioti says the experience has only increased Edward’s desire to be a soccer star.
“He hasn’t stopped talking about it. He’s been playing for three years now and he’s already been moved up a level above his age.”
