Juniors joust

The Aussie rules skills of St Albans Primary School pupils, including Asende (pictured), were on show last week as the school clinched the girls’ division of the 2012 Multicultural Schools Cup. The boys’ division was taken out by Sunshine Harvester. More than 200 boys and girls from schools in Melbourne’s west converged on Whitten Oval for the seventh annual round-robin tournament. The St Albans pupils displayed the skills they learned through the Western Bulldogs’ Friendly School program. The tournament winners will play for AFL Victoria’s State Multicultural Schools Cup at Whitten Oval tomorrow. Schools competing included St Albans North, Sunshine Christian School, Mother of God Ardeer, Sunshine Harvester, St Albans and Footscray primary schools. More pictures: brimbankweekly.com.au.
