STUDENTS at Catholic Regional College in Caroline Springs shared their vision for an end to world hunger when taking part in last week’s 40 Hour Famine.
CRC well-being leader Jenny Jones said students like Olivia, Xavier, Danielle, Ryan and Natalie (pictured) were imaginative about what they could go without for the annual fund-raiser.
“Some students chose food, some chose to go without technology, and one year 7 student decided to go without her bed and the couch for the weekend, instead sitting and sleeping on the floor.”
The school was hopeful of exceeding its target of $1500.
The fund-raising effort came after four year 10 students attended World Vision’s global leadership conference at the Melbourne Convention Centre in April.
The conference was aimed at encouraging young people to be leaders of change on global poverty issues.
“Those students came back inspired and informed about how they could make a difference in the world,” Ms Jones said.
