Mowbray campus sites in demand

SEVERAL private schools are lining up to buy insolvent Mowbray College’s three campuses.

Fitzroy’s agent David Bourke said several schools had identified the north-west as a place to establish and expand.

“Melton campus is a significant infill site well suited to development,” he said.

“There’s still a reasonably steady market in the schools sector.”

Mr Bourke said all three Mowbray campuses were extensive in scope. “The cost to replace them would be very high.”

However, he said a number of private school bodies were interested.

“There are also inquiries from developers. The town centre campus is well located in the centre of Caroline Springs.”

Mowbray College collapsed earlier this year and was placed in receivership in July.

Expressions of interest close September 14.
