HILLSIDE will be one of the six casualties of the Essendon District Football League’s decision to split into three divisions from the middle of this month.
The Sharks had their mathematical chance of survival in the second tier snuffed out in a four-goal loss to East Keilor at Overland Reserve on Saturday.
Interestingly, the contest might have been a division 2 grand final preview, with the two sides having accumulated the most wins of the relegated teams and will be red-hot favourites to play off in the big one.
Taylors Lakes blitzed Roxburgh Park by 89 points at Lakeside Drive Reserve. The Lions were roaring from the outset with a five-goals-to-zip opening term and kept their foot on the throats of the home side.

The Blues edged a little closer with an 83-point drubbing of winless Craigieburn on the road at DS Aitken Reserve.
