Robbery bid fails, pair flees

KEILOR Downs police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in Deer Park last Thursday night.

Detective Senior Constable Gerry Fabbro said two men wearing balaclavas and wielding baseball bats tried to break into a convenience store on Aycliffe Drive about 9.50pm.

“After they were interrupted by the owner of the store they fled down Aycliffe Drive and were intercepted by a male driving a car,” he said.

“One of the men struck the front of the car with a baseball bat before both fled the scene.”
