THE magic of music was revealed for Braybrook’s Dinjerra Primary School pupils last week.
Melbourne Symphony Orchestra string stars Simon Collins and Steve Reeves (pictured) treated grade 3 and 4 students to a preview of what they later performed for students at the Melbourne Town Hall.
MSO education manager Bronwyn Lobb says it was the first time many of the students had seen an orchestra perform live.
“It’s about breaking down barriers. We see it as a way of deepening the experience for the students; it enables them to connect with the performance,” Ms Lobb said.
The pupils were among 1600 selected by the Education Department to have their visit sponsored by MSO patrons.
Ms Lobb says the MSO Education Week program, now in its second year, provides a great buzz for everyone.
