Flying the flag against homophobia

BRIMBANK, Hobsons Bay and Wyndham councils are this morning (Thursday) flying the rainbow flag to mark International Day Against Homophobia.

Hobsons Bay and Brimbank will co-host talks by acting commissioner of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission Karen Toohey, Hockey Victoria CEO Ben Hartung and Hobsons Bay mayor Tony Briffa.

The event takes place from 9-10.30am today at the Brimbank Council offices.

Wyndham is hosting a tea from 9.30-11am today at Wyndham Cultural Centre.

At 6.30pm on May 30, the Australian documentary The Doctor’s Wife will be screened at Altona Meadows library. It explores the lives of a gay couple who relocate to a small bush town.
