Shooting victim dropped outside Sunshine Hospital on life support

POLICE are struggling to piece together circumstances around the shooting of a man dropped at Sunshine Hospital on Tuesday night.

Homicide Squad Detective Inspector John Potter said police could not rule out the shooting was a payback or ‘vigilante’ attack.

Brunswick man Sean Edward Walker remains on life-support at Royal Melbourne Hospital after being shot in the groin on Tuesday night.

He was dropped off in the emergency room at 10.48pm before being transferred to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.

The 27-year-old man underwent surgery early Wednesday.

Detective Inspector Potter said police need to speak with a man and woman who dropped the victim out the front of the hospital.

“We need to work out Sean’s movements in the last 48 hours,” he said.

“We’re appealing for the people, a man and a woman, who dropped Sean at the hospital last night to contact us and we’re appealing for anyone with information that knows what happened to Sean.”

Police say the victim was dropped off in a light-coloured 1996-2000 model Mitsubishi Verdana sedan with a sun-roof and spoiler.

“We’ve seen in the past cases where people have been shot in the lower limbs potentially as a warning and it hasn’t been fatal, this case has the potential to be fatal, he’s in a critical condition on life support. The people who dropped him off hold the key.”
