Camp Quality puppets bring healthy dose of laughter to deadly serious topic

If laughter is the best medicine, a recent puppet show in Kealba gave pupils the perfect dose.

The Camp Quality puppet show starred three mischievous life-size puppets, Kylie, Dean and Melissa. The trio showed how compassion and encouragement were just the trick for friends with cancer and other serious illnesses.

The interactive educational program for primary schools and children’s hospitals uses fun and laughter to teach the importance of acceptance and tolerance.

Puppeteer Emily Paterson said the show helped dispel myths and misunderstandings, such as the idea that cancer might be contagious.
